The Sun Doesn't Shine On All Sides
27 min
Screenplay and Director: Gligor Kondovski
Producer: Dejan Miloševski
The story of the Macedonian Elvis Presley who lives and works in Australia. Vane Crngarov comes from the village of Kukliš, in the Strumica region, and currently lives and works in Australia. His life and musical journey began in his hometown of Kukliš, Strumica, with his first accordion in childhood. A poor and rural life forced him to play and earn money through music. That’s how he met his current wife, Elizabeth (Liz), who stayed in Australia, and with whom he has two daughters.
His resemblance to Elvis Presley will take him to a festival in Las Vegas, USA. In Australia, he works as a bus driver, entertaining both children and adults while dressed in Elvis Presley’s style. He also has a music band with which he performs in restaurants and clubs.
Through photographs, songs, and storytelling, Vane speaks about nostalgia for his homeland, life in Australia, and the simple truth that, of course, the sun can’t shine everywhere at the same time. In Australia, he has material security, but he is still a stranger, far from his native land. Hence the title — the sun can’t shine everywhere at the same time. Life in Australia is stable, but home is always where we come from.

The film industry has long been the subject of sharp criticism. It’s no secret that something isn’t right in our profession. Unpaid overtime, exploitation, a clearly defined hierarchical system between departments, and discrimination are issues that some film workers face on a daily basis. We want to give our colleagues a voice and provide them with an opportunity to share their experiences.

Deep in the Karst region above Trieste (Italy) lies a place shrouded in mystery, where nature, history, and legend intertwine. This place is the Druid’s Valley, also known as the Valley of the Moon — a deep sinkhole characterized by a series of ancient stone structures, now in ruins. Over the years, these structures have sparked the collective imagination of the local people, giving rise to numerous legends about their purpose and origin. Through interviews with researcher Dante Cannarella and Karst enthusiast Paolo Del Core, the documentary explores the historical and cultural roots of this sinkhole, attempting to uncover its secrets among the surrounding rocks and vegetation. It is a journey that also seeks to reflect on the impact nature has on humans and how we constantly strive to mythologize it.
